Product Description

Background suppression photoelectric beam sensor with a SUS316L stainless steel enclosure rated IP69K for trouble free use in high temperature and high pressure washdown enviroments. This background suppression sensor has a bright Red LED light source for easy alignment set-up. Using the 4-turn potentiometer the sensing distance can be set from 20mm to 300mm. Sensors with background suppression are used to detect targets up to a certain distance. Unlike standard diffuse reflective sensors, which rely on light intensity, background suppression sensors rely on the angle at which the beam returns to the sensor. Objects beyond the specified distance, such as reflective backgrounds are ignored. Sensors with background suppression are insensitive to fluctuations in the color and reflectivity of the intended target. The LED beam diameter is 19mm at 250mm distance. The sensor will detect all opaque targets at the same set distance. The two-position switch allows selection of light-on or dark-on mode. Dual status indicators include a green LED for stability and an orange LED indicator for the output. Compact size (mm) is 31H x 20W and 11 thick. Enclosure protection is rated IP67. Price includes the sensor and mounting bracket with screws. 2 meter jacketed hook-up cable can be cut to length. The solid state NPN (sinking) signal will switch 100mA with a 0.5ms response.
